Meet Emily

As a mom of two children, pet-parent, and business owner, I understand how clutter can affect our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Over the past 5 years I have worked remotely, taken maternity leaves, and moved across the country from BC to ON. That has meant ALOT of time spent in our home and dealing with our possessions. It has also brought feelings of overwhelm, irritability, and impatience. The feeling like I was always tidying, without ever having a tidy home, and wishing I could spend more time doing what I enjoyed – making memories with my loved ones, being active, and exploring the outdoors.

After decluttering and organizing our home using the KonMari Method®, I felt the profound impacts and life changing magic of tidying up, and founded Joyful Homes in 2023 to help others experience the same. I combine my training as a Professional Organizer, with my background in Physical and Health Education, to provide clients with empathy, encouragement, and expertise throughout the process in a way that is thoughtful and efficient. No matter what walk of life you are in, my goal is to guide you from a state of chaos and overwhelm, to clarity and joy, so that you can free up space, time, and energy for what you love.

The JOYFUL Method™

Emily blends her training in the KonMari Method®, which was popularized by Japanese tidying guru Marie Kondo, with her practical experience and an ability to customize the decluttering and organizing approach for each client’s unique home and lifestyle. The result is her JOYFUL Method™, which includes:
